Programme Overview

In this edition of LAAC summit, our distinguished faculty members will discuss about the emerging evidence for the Left Atrial Appendage Closure (LAAC) therapy as proven alternative to oral anticoagulation for preventing stroke in patients with non-valvular Atrial Fibrillation (AF). The LAAC summit is comprised of 4 digital modules and aims at discussing and learning about latest clinical evidence and at sharing knowledge and experience about LAAC.

The first module will provide case-based discussions on reducing stroke risk and bleeding in patients with AF and aims at reviewing latest evidence on LAAC and oral anticoagulation. The second module will focus on imaging and different imaging modalities before, during and as a follow up to the procedure. The third module addresses complexities in LAAC and the fourth and final module is designed to share experiences on post-implant medication treatment options and differences in follow-up modalities post LAAC.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss the emerging evidence for the LAAC therapy
  • Share experience about the management of LAAC procedures to offer treatment for patients at high risk for stroke
  • Learn how new imaging modalities (ICE, mini-micro TEE, CT) and workflow could help streamlining the LAAC procedure
  • Understand design benefits of the new WATCHMAN FLX device for optimized procedural results
  • Discuss individual post-implant drug regimen and follow-up of patients treated.

Don’t forget you can listen real time in 8 languages through our app!
